Edgefield is a new-home community in the Loris area of Horry County, near the North Carolina-South Carolina border in an area locals may know as Goretown. The community is located approximately one mile off Highway 9, near the intersection of Camp Swamp Road and Old Buck Creek Road, where Highway 144 terminates. Its location provides a more rural setting in northern Horry County while still offering access to Loris, North Myrtle Beach and the broader Grand Strand. Stanley Martin Homes is now the builder at Edgefield, bringing a new collection of floor plans to a community that originally began presales in August 2024.
The property has a longer development history. In 2022, Horry County approved development of 235 single-family homes on approximately 86 acres as part of a master-planned project known as the Graham Tract, named for the Graham family, which owned the property at the time. B & M Properties of the Carolinas LLC subsequently purchased the property from the Graham family in early 2023. Great Southern Homes was the original builder at Edgefield and planned an initial phase of 47 single-family homes along Camp Swamp Road. Great Southern Homes is also planning another nearby community, Myrtle West, adding to the builder's presence in this part of northern Horry County.
Edgefield is part of a growing concentration of new residential development in the area. The Forest at Black Bear by D.R. Horton and Andalusia by Starlight Homes are among the other new-home communities being developed nearby. The Quentin at Edgefield by Stanley Martin Homes offers 1,725 square feet and is a single-story, three-bedroom, two-bath design. The home is organized around an open-concept kitchen, dining and family-room area, with the kitchen positioned toward the center of the home and featuring a large island and walk-in pantry. The primary suite is separated from the secondary bedrooms, while a covered patio extends the living space outdoors.
The Easton at Edgefield by Stanley Martin Homes provides 1,897 square feet and is another single-story, three-bedroom, two-bath design. The plan offers an open arrangement between the kitchen and main living areas, with the primary bedroom on the main level and a large kitchen island serving as a central feature of the home.
