News Title:Pulte Homes prepares to bring Gardens at Long Bay to a growing Longs residential area
A new single-family home community is coming to Longs as Pulte Homes prepares to introduce Gardens at Long Bay, a new neighborhood located along Highway 9 near Foxtail Drive and the established Long Bay Golf Club.
The Gardens at Long Bay is located in the heart of the area known as Little Town, a longtime Horry County locality just north of Longs. The area has traditionally been rural, but that character is changing as new residential communities begin to take shape around the established Long Bay Golf Club.
The approximately 35-acre Gardens at Long Bay property is positioned within the larger Long Bay Golf Club residential area and is expected to include close to 100 single-family homes.
One of the most notable aspects of the location is its relationship to Long Bay Golf Club — an 18-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus that opened in 1988. The established golf course gives the new community an amenity that is already in place rather than one being planned as part of the new development.
More new construction at Long Bay
Long Bay itself continues to see new residential activity. The Townhomes at Long Bay are planned for a total of 56 multifamily units, with several builders having previously constructed and sold 31 of the townhomes. Hunter Quinn Homes is now building the remaining 25 units.
Hunter Quinn is offering two townhome models, appropriately named after famous golfers: the Norman and the Palmer. The first Hunter Quinn townhomes closed in late spring 2025, with current pricing starting in the upper $300s.
The residential activity extends across Highway 9 as well. Great Southern Homes, now part of Stanley Martin Homes, is preparing to announce presales for Buck Creek Cove, a new community planned for 74 multifamily homes on the opposite side of Highway 9 from Gardens at Long Bay.
Another planned community is also nearby. Timber Bay, on approximately 32.66 acres immediately north of Long Bay Golf Club, is expected to include approximately 65 single-family homes. The property was rezoned in 2024 to Multi-Residential District One (MRD 1) for residential development.
Taken together, these projects point to a growing concentration of residential development along this portion of Highway 9. Gardens at Long Bay will bring another major national builder and close to 100 new single-family homes to the area, while Timber Bay and other nearby projects add to the momentum around Long Bay Golf Club.
What Pulte is bringing to Gardens at Long Bay
Pulte will offer a selection of ranch and two-story single-family homes at Gardens at Long Bay. The homesites are expected to be spacious, with two-car garages standard and three-car garages available on select plans.
Residents of Gardens at Long Bay will also have the option of joining Long Bay Golf Club's social membership, providing access to the club's amenities.
As of August 2026, Pulte is pricing Gardens at Long Bay from the low $300s.
