Myrtle Beach New Home Community NEWS |
Evington is a new home community of 147 single-family lots located along Highway 905 in Longs, SC roughly 8 miles north of Myrtle Beach.
The approximate 86.4 acre parcel where the new home community of Evington will be developed sits on the South Carolina side where South Carolina meets North Carolina.
Preliminary plans are indicating that development of the new home community of Evington in Longs will be completed in two phases. The first phase of development in Evington is tentatively showing 73 single family homes on the north east side of the community along the SC/NC border. The remaining 74 single family homes in Evington are being planned for the southwest portion of this community.
Stormwater permits were obtained for Evington back in August of 2025, allowing the developer to manage how the stormwater (rain and runoff) would be collected, treated and discharged from the site – especially after construction.
RS Parker currently owns the property and is the developer. RS Parker is a family-owned business headquartered in Myrtle Beach, SC that transitioned from residential home builder to residential developer back in 2018.
As of October of 2025, no builder has yet to be named and timing for development of the new home community of Evington in Longs has not yet been announced.
There are several other new home communities in Longs near Evington that are also being planned:
Lennar will be the builder in Valley Ridge. Horry County provided approval for the development of 289 single family units in the new home community of Valley Ridge. This new home community of Valley Ridge is located just off of Highway 9 in Longs and will reside on over 82 acres of land. Simple access to Highway 9 makes this an easy commute to all of the Grand Strand activities and beaches. Valley Ridge will be neighbors with another subdivision currently under construction by Chesapeake Homes - the Willows.
In May of 2024, Lennar purchased approximately 80 acres of land owned by the Vaught family off of Route 9 in Longs, SC. Lennar is well committed to building in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas of Myrtle Beach.
Buck Creek Cove
Great Southern Homes will be the builder in Buck Creek Cove. Buck Creek Cove is conveniently located directly off of Highway 9 across from the Long Bay Golf Club. Great Southern Homes purchased this approximate 17.46 acre parcel of land in December of 2024. Horry County has provided approval for the development of 74 multi-family homes in the new home community of Buck Creek Cove. Great Southern Homes has not yet announced timing or pricing for the new home community of Buck Creek Cove in Longs, SC.
Horry County has approved the development of 974 single family units and 318 multi-family units in this Longs new home community of Palmetto Ranch. This new home community of Palmetto Ranch is located just south of the North Carolina border and right off of Highway 905. This Longs new home community is on the other side of Route 9 across from the Long Bay Golf Club. Simple access to Route 9 makes this an easy commute to all of the Grand Strand activities and beaches. This new home community in Longs of Palmetto Ranch will reside on almost 600 acres of land.
