Beverly Homes is planning a new multifamily residential development known as Macklen Villas on a property immediately east of the established Linksbrook neighborhood in Murrells Inlet, Georgetown County. The project has received approval from Georgetown County and is identified in county records as a multifamily subdivision with 10 units.
The property contains approximately 24.93 acres, making the approved 10-unit development notably low density when considering the size of the overall tract.
Important environmental information associated with the property - a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Approved Jurisdictional Determination, completed May 26, 2021, specifically reviewed this parcel and identified a 15.61-acre review area consisting of uplands, while another 11.33 acres of the tract was identified as a protected area and was not evaluated as part of the determination.
Macklen Villas will be situated immediately alongside Linksbrook, an established residential neighborhood within the larger Prince Creek community. Linksbrook was developed as a single-family residential community and today provides an established residential setting with mature landscaping and existing neighborhood amenities. The location of Macklen Villas therefore places the new development next to an established portion of the Murrells Inlet residential market while adding a different type of housing to the area.
The relatively small number of approved units is one of the more notable aspects of Macklen Villas. With only 10 multifamily units currently identified in Georgetown County's approval records, the project is substantially smaller than many of the larger multifamily and townhome developments being introduced throughout the Grand Strand.
Beverly Homes is a different kind of new home builder.
