From “Apple Tree” Lane to "Orchard" Park it is an interesting community name choice. In the Little River area, and in the south in general, apple trees are not as common as they are up in the northern parts of the United States as typically the chill hours in the south are insufficient for seriously productive apple growing.
The current plans are to develop 81 single-family homes in the new home community of Orchard Park in Little River.
Heather Glen, Twisted Oaks and Cypress Village are a few other subdivisions close to where Orchard Park will be developed.
Abernethy Development Group purchased this property in October of 2024 and will be developing this land.
The Abernethy Development Group is a local Grand Strand area based company that provides land development services that support all phases of transforming raw land into a valuable asset. The Abernethy Group also provides land banking services to assist with land acquisition and management of the land for future development.

Orchard Park is one of several new home communities being planned in Little River. Some of the other future Little River new home communities include The Village at Highway 57 by Pulte Homes, a new home community on the SC side of the old Farmstead Golf Links, townhomes off of Mullett Creek, and Summers Cove.
No timing or plans have been announced yet for this Little River new home community of Orchard Park.
