On February 6, 2025, the Horry County Planning Commission will be reviewing a request to rezone an approximate 47 acre portion to primarily Multi-Residential (MRD 3).
This piece of property is conveniently located close to Highway 544 and not too far from the interchange with Highway 31. The property is adjacent to Leisure Lane (not necessarily the name of this new homes community)
Preliminary plans are showing approximately 145 single family units.

Clear Pond is a new home community in Carolina Forest area. Meritage Homes is one of several builders serving the development needs of this new home community in Carolina Forest. Meritage Homes began development of its homes in this community in the fall of 2022. This Carolina Forest new home community is located adjacent to the Myrtle Beach National golf courses. Myrtle Beach National has 3 golf courses and has been nationally recognized as one of the more prestigious golf course in the country - with the signature designs of Arnold Palmer displayed on each challenging hole - that comes at no surprise. This community is located near Highway 501 and Highway 31 and is in close proximity to the Carolina Forest High School.
