Mungo Homes purchased these 3 parcels from Myrtle Beach Farms Company (more commonly now known as Burroughs and Chapin), which currently owns an additional approximate 640 acres adjacent to the parcels that Mungo Homes purchased. This 640-acre piece of land that the Myrtle Beach Farms Company owns was approved years ago under the subdivision name of Pine Ridge for 975 multi-family units and 942 single-family units.
NOTE: In 1990, Myrtle Beach Farms Company joined with Conway-based Burroughs & Collins Company to form Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.
Burroughs and Chapin has not yet announced timing or plans for the Pine Ridge subdivision.
Mungo Homes has not yet announced timing or plans for the 3 parcels they just purchased.
Mungo Homes has been quite active building in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas of Myrtle Beach. Michael J. Mungo started building homes in the Columbia, South Carolina area in 1954, and still today, the Mungo family is involved in the day-to-day operations of the new home building business. Mungo Homes is now a division of the Clayton Home Building Group and a Berkshire Hathaway company.
