In July 2024, DRB Homes purchased an 11.69 piece of property behind the Towne Centre Commons in Carolina Forest near the intersection of International Drive and River Oaks Drive. This property is directly adjacent to The Cottages at Myrtle Beach.
The Cottages at Myrtle Beach is a newly developed residential community offering a variety of living options, including cottages, duplexes, and lofts, with 1, 2, and 3-bedroom floor plans. A second phase of The Cottages at Myrtle Beach (where the DRB Homes property now resides) was rezoned from HC (Highway Commercial) to MRD 3 (allows for mixed residential development in urban areas). In February 2024, there was a request to amend the existing MRD to allow 111 townhomes. The preliminary plan proposed 26 two-bedroom units and 85 three-bedroom units.
