News Title:Timber Bay is a new home community of 65 single-family homes being planned in Longs, SC.
The new home community of Timber Bay that is being planned is conveniently located just off of Highway 9 in Longs, SC on an approximate 32.66 acre parcel of land.
Timber Bay is north-adjacent to the Long Bay Golf Club. Long Bay Golf Club is one of two Myrtle Beach area courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, and the 18-time major champion’s original plans for the layout continue to resonate more than 30 years after its opening. Long Bay Golf Club has a layout that is defined visually by waste bunkers and mounding, allowing players to be creative in how they attack and even recover on a course that continues to delight locals and traveling golfers. Speaking to the quality of the design, three back nine holes at Long Bay - 10, 13 and 18 - have been ranked among the top 100 along the Myrtle Beach golf scene, and each challenges players in a different way. Long Bay, which underwent a greens renovation project in 2023, has remained true to the Golden Bear’s vision and golfers are the beneficiaries.
In 2024, this land where the new home community of Timber is being planned was rezoned from Commercial Forest Agriculture (CFA) & Forest Agriculture (FA) to Multi Residential One (MRD 1). The new zooming district of MRD 1 in Horry County is designed for certain residential uses with a focus on lower density development.
Timing for development of Timber Bay has not yet been announced.
