News Title: Oakland Heights Townhomes Join Myrtle Beach’s Expanding Wave of New Development Near Grande Dunes
A new townhome development in the established Oakland Heights neighborhood is bringing 12 additional homes to the northern Myrtle Beach market, adding a smaller infill project to an area seeing a much broader wave of residential development.

Located at 6601 Waters Edge Court, just off Wildwood Trail near 66th Avenue North, the development consists of three buildings with four townhomes each. The property is technically within the Oakland Heights subdivision. Waters Edge Court is the private drive serving the new buildings.

These 12 townhomes have approximately 1,200 square feet of living space, with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a half bath.  Pricing of these townhomes is starting in the upper $200’s.

Although the Oakland Heights project is modest in size, it is situated within a part of Myrtle Beach where several much larger residential developments are planned, underway or beginning sales. Many of the most notable projects are associated with Grande Dunes, where new construction is continuing in some of the master-planned community’s final development areas.

Along the Intracoastal Waterway near the Grande Dunes Marina, Dream Finders Homes is developing Islecrest, a 111-home single-family community, while Lennar is preparing Islewater, a neighboring development planned for 86 single-family homes.  Both are part of the Marina Village section of Grande Dunes.  Elsewhere within the master-planned community of Grande Dunes, Toll Brothers is building Cascadia, a 45-home single-family neighborhood adjacent to the Grande Dunes Resort Golf Club.

Other projects add to the variety of new housing taking shape in the area.  Maravilla, a Lennar community near 76th Avenue North and Highway 17, is planned for 62 single-family homes. Dream Finders Homes is also developing Promenade at Grande Dunes, an approximately 85-unit townhome community, while Lennar's Beach View is another single-family neighborhood within Grande Dunes.

Not every nearby project is a traditional residential subdivision. Dunes Marketplace, proposed for the corner of North Kings Highway and 52nd Avenue North beside Ocean Village, is a separate mixed-use development concept that has been marketed with residential units. Its current construction status and final configuration have not been confirmed.

Together, these developments illustrate the range of new housing being introduced across this part of Myrtle Beach, from luxury single-family neighborhoods and larger townhome communities to smaller projects filling in established residential areas. The 12 new homes at Oakland Heights represent a different scale of development, but they are part of the same broader pattern of continued residential investment in the northern Myrtle Beach area.
