News Title:Mungo Homes is now expected to become the builder for a planned new home community in Galivants Ferry - while the land had previously been assembled by Starlight Homes, one of the parcels included in that assemblage has already been sold, signaling the first step in what appears to be a transition of the project.
The new home community of Ridgecrest that is being planned in Galivants Ferry is just a couple of minutes south of D. R. Horton’s new home community - Jordanville Farms – a master planned community of over 400 homes that began presales back in the summer of 2023.
Ridgecrest is also in close proximity to Highway 501 – a primary route into Myrtle Beach – and one of the main highways people use to enter Myrtle Beach from inland areas like Conway and farther north. Highway 501 connects directly with U.S. 17 Business (Kings Highway) near downtown Myrtle Beach, making it a direct route toward the beach and city center.
In late December of 2025, Starlight Homes purchased 3 parcels in Galivants Ferry. These three parcels (1) 58.18 acres, (2) 136.55 acres, and (3) 78.12 acres – total nearly 275 acres of land.
The current zoning of all of the three parcels is MSF 10. This Horry County Zoning District of MSF 10 (Manufactured Single-Family) is for single-family residential, including mobile homes with a minimum lot size of 10,000 square
Ridgecrest is the tentative name for this new home community comprising these 3 parcels.
In February of 2026, the Clayton Properties Group began to close on these properties, signaling the first step in what appears to be a transition of the project.
Mungo Homes is now a division of the Clayton Home Building Group and a Berkshire Hathaway company.
As of March 2026, Mungo Homes has not yet announced plans for Ridgecrest.
