City Council approved the annexation and rezoning in January of 2023. The preliminary plat for Phase 1 of Marshfield, creating 112 residential lots, common area, pump station site and rights of way was approved by the North Myrtle Beach Planning Commission in January of 2024.
On January 7, 2025, the North Myrtle Beach Planning Commission reviewed the preliminary plat for Phase 2 of Marshfield which would create an additional 140 residential lots and provide a right-of-way off Marsh Road.
