Sandpiper Place is a new home community coming soon to Myrtle Beach. Sandpiper Place will be conveniently located off of Bay Road near the Highway 31 and Highway 707 interchange. This new home community is being developed around the old Heron Point Golf Club and adjacent to the Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club.
The Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club is the master planned community that is occupying much of the area in this location. The Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club was established around 2005. There are close to 500 homes in the Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club.
The Heron Point Golf Club off of Blue Heron Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, first opened in 1988. Willard Byrd was the architect who designed this true links style golf course reminiscent of many of the old Scottish courses. The Heron Point Golf Club closed at the end of 2014 as the club had been struggling financially and was in desperate need of some capital improvements.
Nearly a decade later, the last pieces of land on this once 155-acre Heron Point Golf Club property off of SC 707 have finally been sold off for development. In August of 2023, D. R. Horton purchase over 80 acres on the last part of which used to be the Heron Point Golf Club.
The 80 acres tract of land that D. R. Horton purchased is located close to the Highway 31 and Highway 707 interchange right off of Blue Heron Boulevard.
Heron Pointe (not to be confused with Pete Dye’s Heron Point in Hilton Head Island) is the name of one of the D. R. Horton communities in this area that began to presell new homes in November of 2024, with prices starting in the mid $350’s in Heron Pointe.
Sandpiper Place is the name of the new home community that will comprise the last section of development in this area.
D. R. Horton is the builder in Sandpiper Place. Estimates are that there will be approximately 135 single family homes in Sandpiper Place.
Sandpiper Place will be a gated community with unmatched privacy and amenities. D. R. Horton will be offering their Express Series homes.
D. R. Horton is pricing the single family homes in Sandpiper Place starting at $268,990.
