The new home community of Palmetto Place is conveniently located on the north side of Highway 90. Locals may know this area as Star Bluff Crossroads as this is near where Star Bluff Road and Long Bay Road each cross Highway 90.
This location is also close to where Water Tower Road intersects with Highway 90. Water Tower Road, a very convenient thoroughfare, is an approximate 10-mile long road in North Myrtle Beach/Longs that runs from the interchange at Highway 31 northeast to Highway 90.

Summers Cove is a new home community adjacent to Forestwood that is in the early planning stages. Expectations are for this new home community to have just over 200 single-family homes.
Marshfield is a new home community off of Water Tower Road by Beazer. The single-family homes in Marshfield are expected to start selling in the winter of 2025. The new home community of Marshfield is being developed on a piece of land that is over 200 acres.
Tupelo Park is a new home community just east of Palmetto Place off of Highway 90 by Lennar. The single-family homes in Tupelo Park first started to sell in late 2024.
Horry County has approved the development of 79 single family homes on an approximate 29.41 acre parcel in the new home community of Palmetto Place. Decatur Investors LLC originally owned this 29 acre piece of property.

In June of 2025, a stormwater permit was obtained for Palmetto Place, allowing the developer to manage how the stormwater (rain and runoff) would be collected, treated and discharged from the site – especially after construction.
As of August of 2025, Meritage Homes has not yet announced pricing or timing for the development of single-family homes in Palmetto Place.
