Clear Pond is a new home community in Carolina Forest. Meritage Homes is one of several builders serving the development needs of this new home community in Carolina Forest. Meritage Homes began development of its homes in this community in the fall of 2022. This Carolina Forest new home community is located adjacent to the Myrtle Beach National golf courses. Myrtle Beach National has 3 golf courses and has been nationally recognized as one of the more prestigious golf course in the country - with the signature designs of Arnold Palmer displayed on each challenging hole - that comes at no surprise. This community is located near Highway 501 and Highway 31 and is in close proximity to the Carolina Forest High School.

Horry County has development approval for 1,323 single family homes, 1042 single family homes have been platted, 1084 single family homes have been developed, and an additional 239 single family homes remain to be developed. Horry County has approved development of 252 multi-family homes, and all of those multi-family homes have been developed.
