The “master planned community” of Black Bear has 554 single family homes approved for development.

D. R. Horton has developed and sold 65 of the 73 single family homes planned for the initial phase. Homes in the Forest at Black Bear are starting at $229,900 and have sold up to $310,000.

In April of 2024, D. R. Horton purchased the remaining 143+ acres in Black Bear. Details on the subsequent phases within the new home community of The Forest at Black Bear within the new tract of land purchased in April 2024 have not yet been announced by D. R. Horton.
